Current Position and Responsibilities

Bassel Rahmy is the current CEO & MD of Sandah Group, one of Arab African International Bank subsidiaries. Sandah is currently a start-up private sector for Microfinance with a paid-in capital of EGP 200 MM (70% AAIB & 30% Sanad fund).

 

With  25 years of experience in the banking sector, Bassel held key positions with several prominent multinational and regional banking entities in which he had a proven track record in achieving accelerated portfolio growth while boosting revenue and profit margins. during his successful career, he focused on acquiring and nurturing the best talent to build efficient and proactive teams
 

Previous Position and Responsibilities

Bassel Rahmy used to be the Chief of Retail and SMEs, Executive Board Member and acting CEO at ALEXBANK- a member of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group. ALEXBANK is one of the largest private sector retail banks in the Egyptian market with a branch network of over 180 branches and more than 5,200 dedicated staff.

As Chief of Retail and SMEs at ALEXBANK, Bassel Rahmy oversees the functions of SMEs, Branch Network Management, Branch Business Development, Product Development, Marketing and Communication, Small Business, Alternative Delivery Channels, Micro Finance and Contact Center.

Bassel Rahmy has close to 35 years of experience in sports & sports management:

• National tennis player for 15 years.

• Egypt Davis Cup player

• Launched and operated the first tennis academy in Egypt @ Sakara Country Club.

• Tennis Head Coach - Shooting Club & National Tennis Team

• President of Tawfikiyia Tennis Club since 2017
